Japanese Maple

Work on this maple began in 2013-2014. It is done in hokidachi (箒立ち) style. The tree itself is approximately 30-35 years old. During the shaping process, the plant's container (pot) was changed several times, which was necessary to properly support root system development and the tree's overall proportions. Different leaf coloration

Japanese maple is considered one of the classic species in bonsai culture  due to its small leaves and beautiful branching. The plant is amenable to shaping, though it requires attention regarding humidity and placement.

In autumn, the leaves' coloration depends directly on the intensity of sunlight. Direct light causes the leaves to take on a vivid red color, while leaves that develop in shade are characterized by a bright yellow color. This trait allows the plant's appearance to vary according to environmental conditions.

The bonsai's appearance is also very important during winter. After leaf fall, the tree's structure becomes visible — the arrangement and placement of the branches, which is what a bonsai specialist works on for years.
