Olive bonsai — one example

Alexandre Meskhi · 2 min

When a bonsai’s new owner looks after the tree well, it is not just an emotional pleasure for us. It has a practical side, too. A beautiful, well-cared-for bonsai that you see at a friend’s or an acquaintance’s home is the best ambassador for our work. This kind of “living advertisement” is far more effective than even the most beautiful photo or video on social media.

How the bonsai looked years ago

This olive bonsai was sold years ago, yet to this day it remains an example of what proper care really means. Its owner pays special attention to every detail: they get in touch with us about any question, and whenever they travel, they always leave the tree with us to look after.

Often, lack of time becomes the main obstacle, and many people struggle to give a plant the attention it needs. It is important to remember that for a bonsai owner, caring for the tree should be a pleasure, not an exhausting obligation. If it turns into a burden, sooner or later it will inevitably show in the plant’s condition. And yet, with good care, a bonsai lives for a very long time. An olive like this one, for example, can live for more than a thousand years if it gets the attention it deserves, and can be handed down from generation to generation.

So before you take this step, think about whether you have the resources to enjoy your relationship with a plant. The end result – a healthy, beautiful tree – depends on exactly this attitude. That is why we always tell people interested in bonsai: before you take this step and buy a bonsai, think carefully about whether you are ready to give the plant the full care it needs. And the end result, as you can see, is truly worth it.
