What bonsai is?

Bonsai is the Japanese art of growing miniature trees using specialized techniques.

A bonsai is not a genetically dwarf plant. It is an ordinary tree that, through specialized care, remains small in size while maintaining the same beautiful and natural form as its larger "companions" growing in nature.

In most cases, 3 or 4 years are not enough to bring a young seedling to "perfection," which is why attention and patience are essential qualities for anyone who decides to seriously engage in creating bonsai.
